We are working alongside New College Durham, and have access to a Funded Skills Bootcamp for Unemployed, Self Employed and Employed Individuals looking for a change in their career.
The learner will achieve the following upon completion of the bootcamp:
- Knowledge: The course outline does cover crucial aspects such as strategic planning, risk management, and KPI monitoring. However, Agile methodologies, often used in construction project management for their flexibility, should be included. Also, the topic of data analysis, particularly big data, would benefit from deeper coverage due to its importance in modern construction project management.
- Skills: Including a basic understanding of programming or construction project management-specific software could prove beneficial. Additionally, exercises focusing on soft skills like communication, leadership, and teamwork should be incorporated.
Modules covered Include:
- Modules 1-2: Introduction to Project Management and Management Research: Importance of effective project management and management research. Key methodologies and frameworks in project management. Research methodologies and their applications in management.
- Modules 3-4: Planning and Implementing Projects: Methods and tools for planning tasks and activities. Work breakdown structure (WBS) and Gantt chart. Implementing and managing project activities.
- Modules 5-6: Stakeholder Relationships and Resource Management. Building strong stakeholder relationships. Stakeholder identification, engagement, and communication. Managing project resources and mitigating risks.
- Modules 7-8: Monitoring, Reporting, and Delivering Results. Monitoring project progress and making adjustments. Measuring project performance and tracking milestones. Reporting on project outcomes and delivering impactful results
This is available to those living or working within the North East.
If you are an employer wishing to upskill your staff, a contribution towards the learners bootcamp cost is applicable, please see detail below:
SME would be expected to contribute 10% which equates to £213.50 per learner.
Large employer would be expected to contribute 30% which would be £640.50 per learner.
The course will run 1 Day a Week for 11 Weeks. Start dates as follows:
