Overview:
This Level 2 Certificate provides a grounding in the principles of leading a team, the importance of successful business communication, and a grounding in the general workings of a business.

Unit 1: Principles of team leading
Build an understanding of various leadership styles and team dynamics and learn essential techniques to manage a team’s workload effectively.
Unit 2: Understand business
Examine the different organisational structures and the general business environment. Build an understanding of business planning and finance principles within an organisation, as well as business reporting, management responsibilities and accountabilities.
Unit 3: Understand how to communicate work-related information
Explore the principles and techniques of work-related communication in both verbal and written forms. Learn about the various documents required for different types of meetings in a business environment.
Unit 4: Understand how to manage performance and conflict in the workplace
Learn how to manage team performance through benchmarking and how to manage underperformance within a team and address conflict in the workplace.
Unit 5: Principles of equality and diversity in the workplace
Develop an understanding of the standards and expectations of equality and diversity in the workplace, including the potential consequences of failing to comply with the relevant legislation.
Unit 6: Understand how to develop working relationships with colleagues
Explore the principles of effective teamwork and learn how to be a ‘buddy’. Build an understanding of the benefits of effective team working, learn techniques to give feedback constructively and resolve team conflict.
Unit 7: Understand health and safety procedures in the workplace
Develop knowledge of the main health and safety responsibilities and workplace laws. Understand employers’ and employees’ responsibilities around health and safety and the support available.
Unit 8: Understand how to develop and deliver a presentation
Explore the development and delivery of presentations. Discover the advantages and limitations of various forms of media, common failings and contingency measures when presenting and consider different ways to evaluate presentations.
